2025 Fantasy Homebrew League

Are you ready for a brewing adventure that combines the thrill of fantasy sports with the art of homebrewing? Welcome to the Brewly Homebrew Club's annual event, the Fantasy Homebrew League (FHL) competition!

Homebrewers will participate in a fantasy football-style draft to choose ingredients for their brew. The FHL culminates in a fun tasting event showcasing the homebrewing community during the Cleveland Beer Week where the public will have an opportunity to try the beers and vote for their favorite.

Draft Party Details:

• Date & Time: Friday, August 15th, 7:00 pm
• Location: Bookhouse Brewing, Cleveland, Ohio
• Registration Fee: $25 per team (individuals or multiple brewers)
• Additional Draft Party Attendees: $10 charge for each person to cover food at the draft

How FHL Works:

• Each team drafts ingredients to create their own unique beer recipe, selecting from base malt, specialty malt, hops, yeast and adjuncts/misc.
• You must use at least 1 ingredient from each category in your recipe.
• Ingredients like water, water treatments, corn/table sugar, yeast starter/nutrients, finings, and rice hulls can be used freely.
• All drafted ingredients don't have to be used, giving you creative freedom!
• Teams are allowed 1 trade (ingredient swap) with another team on draft night only.
• 1 Write-In Ingredient is permitted for specialty malt, hops, and adjuncts/misc. (approval required).
• Certain ingredient choices grant usage of all forms of that ingredient for versatility.
• By the end of Round 7, each team must have drafted from each required category.

Competition Schedule:

• Draft Party: Friday, August 15th
• Beer Submission Window: September 17th thru October 4th
• Tasting Event & Awards: TBD - sometime in October @ The Cleveland Brew Shop

Submission Requirements:

• Submit two (2) bottles/cans of your finished beer with no identifying markings.
• Complete a Google Form with your recipe and category declaration for judging.
• Attach the provided label to each bottle using a rubber band (no tape, glue, or adhesive).

Tickets:

• Each team must purchase one Team Registration ticket. This includes the team's registration in the competition and admission for one person to the Draft Party.
• Any additional team members or guests attending the Draft Party must purchase a Draft Party Additional Attendee ticket.
